Wonderful discussions following my presentation at University of Missouri. Students and faculty were very aware of and interested in the issues of my research. Thank you for your enthusiasm.
My amazing Canadian counterpart, Tess Prendergast, and I standing in front of our advertisement for our shared presentation. Tess Prendergast is a PhD candidate at UBC, researching the topic: Early literacy in the lives of children with disabilities. Tess and I met in 2014 at the American Library Associations conference for children's library services (ASLC) at San Francisco. It was amazing to meet the only other person in the western world undertaking doctoral research in the same area. Tess and I have been corresponding ever since and this was our first opportunity to present together. Thank you UBC for inviting me to visit your beautiful University, to meet your students, staff and faculty, and to share my research.
If your are interested in reading some of Tess' work, she has an article in the latest edition of the U.S. journal, Library Trends, vol.65, no.1. This is the link to the inclusive services at Brooklyn Public Library that I mentioned in my ALIA presentation.
